Why book your grooming with the professionals at Southview?
As always our veterinarian staff is on sight. Our professional pet stylists consult our veterinarians if there are any medical concerns with your pet.

What if my pet is due for vaccinations?
You can book your groom or bath and have annual vaccinations or other veterinarian services during the same visit.

What if your pet needs sedation for grooming?
Your pet is in good hands at Southview. Our caring veterinarian technician staff is available to monitor your pet if sedation is needed to complete a groom. Sedation is used only in cases where it is in the best interest of your pet and only with your written permssion.

What about your older pet?
Our professional pet stylists are experienced in handling the special needs of older pets. We are adding an additional styling table with a low profile designed to help lift our larger aging dogs. A groom can be hard on geriatric dogs and cats. Our professional pet stylists take the extra time and care to work with those special clients. If a consult with a veterinarian is needed, our staff can handle that for you in the same visit.

Why should we take extra care of eyes and ears?
Many of our pet clients are in need of extra care for eyes and ears. Our staff will always consult with a veterinarian if any medical concerns are spotted. This fast action could save your pet pain, and most likely will save money by identifying a minor problem before it escalates into something more serious for your pet.

What effect does winter have on a pet’s skin and coat?
Dry skin can be more than unsightly. It can be the start of something more serious. If your dog or cat is suffering from a skin condition, Southview has a full line of medicated treatments available to your pet. Our pet stylist will consult will our veterinarians to make certain the best treatment is used for your pet.

Grooming is more than style. The grooming of certian breeds of dogs is needed every 6-8 weeks to maintain healthy coat and skin. When a dog's coat becomes matted it is more than just unsightly, it is very unconfortable and unsanitary for the dog. The pictures below show a dog that was compleatly matted to the extent that the hair had formed a solid pelt over the dog's skin. The dog was in pain and unable to move or walk without feeling the hair pulling on the skin.
